Energy and sustainability group at Guidehouse, lots of openings right now and I’d like to apply. Anyone have insights into what the Consultant / Data Analyst role is like? Do you feel the work you do is impactful? Consultant with 7 yoe and looking for mid level positions. Thanks in advance!

Less than a year into my role as an analyst in IT audit. Took the role with the hopes of transferring to a finance-focused group and after passing CFA L1 I mentioned this to my coach last week (also hold an MS in Finance, FWIW).

He said we should move on this quickly and to send him over a few projects / teams I’d want to work with.

If I would eventually like to find myself in IB, is my best bet to try transferring into the valuations group and also, how should I frame my outreach?!

I have an offer from Capco for a Consultant role at $95k... is this fair? I have almost 2 YOE as an analyst in an industry strategy role, currently making $90k.

Got an offer for a startup in program management (six months into consulting as first year analyst, TC ~$125K not including end of year equity bonus), but was wondering if this is too soon to exit? Don’t want to name names but startup just raised ~$5M Series A, YC backed, would be 30th FTE hire. Also in recruiting process for Google APMM and others, would love this group’s combined POV and experience navigating consulting exits as this is my first time seriously considering the move :)

Google Q - APMM for S&O or Business Analyst S&O position? Any idea on compensation/lifestyle etc?

For those who exit to industry, do you find recruiters lowball? They often quote a salary based on YOE and their standard pay - often lower because their salary progression is slower. 4YOE at consulting you make $120k~$150k but they quote $100k because that’s how they pay their homegrown analysts. Nobody thus far thinks 4y at consulting is worth 5-6 YOE, I’ve even met someone who only match me to their 2-3 YOE analyst because they think their program is more prestigious and want to hold me back.

Senior here. Just sharing it’s surprising how positive interview opportunities have been. Started looking in the last two months and landed one really nice MM IB experienced analyst role where I went through the super day. They said I was overqualified and not a good fit as a result. Now interviewing for a post-MBA associate IB role. Crazy how nice opportunities can be once you start looking are. I NEVER would have guessed I’d get associate level investment banking interviews.

Not sure what route to take..
I have 1 YOE at EY and my buddy is an SC at Slalom.
He can get me in at C where the offer is between 100-120 with lower exit ops or should I go to Acn at senior analyst where it make about 85-90 with higher exit ops?

When I didn't have a summer internship, I was envious of people who did and was open to getting an unpaid one. When I got a summer internship and made $16/hr, I was envious of my Big 4 friends making double. When I got my McK analyst role, I was envious of tech guys.

I see so many posts where people are disheartened that X person makes more than them. It's super important to maintain perspective, y'all. Objectively, we're all living pretty great lives, make the best of it

What are typical SQL questions asked at a Google technical interview for a financial analyst role?

How does a data analyst position differ from strategy & ops? Aren’t both just using data to solve operational problems? Or are data analysts less involved in decision making?

Need some advice, currently a manager at big4 in IT Attestation.. offered a position as a senior security analyst for 40% pay bump and 150k in RSU at a fintech (going through IPO). It seems like a no brainer to take the offer but I can’t get past going from a manager role back down to analyst. Has anyone dealt with this? Afraid I’d make the move then miss people management and the title. I’d also be reporting directly to a manager which would be weird at first.

Anyone have any tips for interviewing with VCA for the client consulting analyst position?

Senior Financial Analyst role at a very successful but unheard of startup in (Saas for HC) or M&A I&D IT at Deloitte? Assuming comp is the same but 10k sign on at D and no sign on bonus. Qualified for both roles and have relevant experience and not sure which role I’d enjoy more. Have a resume full of lesser known places but good industries (Mgmt consulting full time, And IB internships). 2 YOE

How do i enter in VC at an analyst position (pre-MBA). I have been working in a consulting firm (focused on healthcare. Not MBB) in India for the last 2 years and have applied on the career portals/cold emailed multiple VC firms. I havent received any response till date and was wondering what would be the right way to go about this since its a very small network in India . Any lead or guidance is appreciated.

Currently an A3 in assurance. I have two job offers: senior financial analyst (FP&A role) and senior accountant. Similar pay (a little over 40% raise), similar benefits. Will taking one of the offers limit me to just those types of roles going forward or would there still be an opportunity to do the other later on?

Received an offer for digital strategy analyst at a media company. Reports to EVP. Dream is to exit into M&E digital strategy so this lines up perfectly. On the other hand, I’m also up for early promo to senior associate (feeling 50/50 about my case) and am currently on a media project rn (don’t want to burn the bridge). Offer is looking for someone to start ASAP...would it look bad to take an offer so close to year end? ~1.5 YOE

Is it worth leaving ACN for McKinsey Solution Delivery Analyst role?

Has anyone here pivoted form consulting into a data visualization/analyst role either at another consulting firm or industry? How was that experience? My current practice doesn’t really help me get this experience and looking to start somewhere.
