Hi everyone, I started as a strategy analyst 4 months ago and things have been going really well. Just had a recruiter reach out on LinkedIn wanting to place me in a strategy and ops role at a tech company... I am not interested in leaving my firm, but am curious to see my options. How do you guys play it when you get these? Just agree and say you would love to hear more? Would that look bad if it got back to your employer? Not sure what is normal

What qualifications must one hold to get a role of Business Analyst into a company?

Is it possible to start as a Senior BA at McKinsey? Just applied for the experienced hire BA role (with a referral), but I have almost 2 YOE as an analyst and a non-MBA masters. If not, how does the experienced hire BA differ from the undergrad BA level in terms of compensation or promotion timeline?

I am working as an internal auditor in a Fortune 500 company. My director told me there is a relocate opportunity to move from internal auditor to a financial analyst role, which is in another business unit/city/state and I like that new city more than the current city. I am not sure whether I should accept the opportunity? BTW I am moving to internal audit senior this year while the new role is an entry level financial analyst. I appreciate any suggestions or brainstormings. Thanks!!!!!

Does anyone know about the interview for Risk & Financial Advisory Analyst position at Deloitte that focus in Controls, Compliance and Finance? Hoping to get some advice on this role.

I have received 2 offers: one from Guidehouse as a Senior Consultant and one from ClearView as a Senior Analyst.

I have 2 questions:

1) Is senior consultant at Guidehouse a higher position than senior analyst at Clearview?

2) Which one would you choose considering that I intend to work ~2 years in consulting to exit to a BD role in a biotech/pharma?

Got an interview opportunity at an IB recently for an Analyst role. I’m a Senior consultant with a Masters Degree with 2 years of work experience. When I asked if they’d offer me Associate instead of Analyst, they said that no one from B4 exits to an IB at associate with just 2 years of work ex. Is this true? Please offer any advise on how I should proceed further. Thanks.

I just received an offer to work as a Program and Application Analyst at Deloitte. They offered me $70k base pay. Is this a fair pay (campus hire) or should I negotiate? I have one year experience in the tech sector prior to joining Deloitte. Does anyone knows the salary range for the position?

Have an interview for an enterprise systems analyst role. Recruiter said they’re looking for someone who knows sql and can write custom reports using sql. My experience with sql is basically data validation, comparing against what’s on a report on a dashboard vs what’s in the database. Any tips to learn between now and Thursday or am I SOL?

However, an analyst position just opened up internally in Credit, which is where I aspire to be for the next ten years. More growth and more intellectual challenge. I’m conflicted about applying for a lateral transfer and losing out on a promotion. Will I be missing out a promotion or should I negotiate a promotion as part of my application to this role ?

Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.

I have a friend who is an was an Analyst at our firm but was part of the massive lay offs that happened in August. They have yet to find a job. I am a 4.5 year old experienced business analyst. I don't hold a MBA degree and am just a Btech graduate. I am not getting enough calls for interviews. Passed one interview for the Scrum master role in Accenture, but they didn't offer as per my expectation and hence I rejected it. (which I now regret)
Is there any specific tools or any specific way that I should be preparing myself in order to bag interviews or offers?

Has anyone taken a finance job after Public and then regretted not staying in an accounting role? I’m interviewing with the same company for a senior finance analyst and senior financial accounting analyst positions. The finance one seems more interesting, but I also feel that accounting is a specialty that I shouldn’t give up.

LinkedIn says 3YoE and bachelor’s required. What’s the TC like? How’s the career progression? Currently on expert track at McK. Total 3YOE including interns + master’s. Tired of 75+ hours of work weeks.

Recruiter wouldn’t give range for analyst role at tech company role based in New York 😟 when asked she just said it would be base plus equity and to consider New York COL when giving range.

Not sure how to approach in follow-up. Should I highball and ask if it’s within their allocated range for the role? Or something else?

I’m a business analyst L2 at a fin tech company in Miami. I have about 5.5 years experience. My base is 75K and bonus is about 10%. I suspect I may be underpaid but not sure. Before this job my experience was not directly in business analysis but transferable financial experience. My title is business analysis but I’m doing more consulting and implementation work than a true SDLC business analysis type role. What do you think? Am I underpaid? And if so, by how much?

Anyone at Bain willing to talk about a Knowledge Analyst role? I recognize that it isn’t client facing but I am honestly pretty burnt out from consulting anyway.
