About to make a switch from industry to RSM Management consulting. Have a few years of experience out of school. Looks like it will be a Senior Associate position. Have seen huge ranges for salaries on glassdoor and can't pinpoint a reasonable salary. Anyone from RSM have thoughts?

I am a junior associate and got offered a position at an overseas office of a US based biglaw. I’m excited about the opportunity but worried it will be hard to return to the US if I need to for whatever reason. Does anyone have experience working at a US firm overseas and returning to the US? Any advice on working overseas? Thanks in advance.

I was offered an Assistant GC position inhouse at a prestigious company in my field but the role is primarily a contract review one (as part of a contract review team). The job seems stable, benefits good, hours good, and pay is what I expected for NYC in-house market. I’m worried about long term growth though. Are contract positions dead-ends or can I eventually lateral to Associate GC position that covers more ground? Help!

In need of a gut check: I lateraled a year and a half ago to move to a location closer to my husband’s parents. I loved my old firm and was given good opportunities and was extremely cautious about lateraling, so I asked many questions during my interviews, including whether associates made their hours. I was assured they always did. Day 1 at the new job starts and it turns out I was hired with another associate for the same position. I can now go weeks at a time with just a few hours of work.

What’s a typical salary range for a senior associate, change management role at KPMG? I have 4.5 YOE in HC at Deloitte.

Got an interview opportunity at an IB recently for an Analyst role. I’m a Senior consultant with a Masters Degree with 2 years of work experience. When I asked if they’d offer me Associate instead of Analyst, they said that no one from B4 exits to an IB at associate with just 2 years of work ex. Is this true? Please offer any advise on how I should proceed further. Thanks.

I really like the work done in consulting, but am not interested in the selling/relationship building process required of higher levels in this job.
At what level should I plan to exit consulting if I want to stay as long as possible without my job becoming chasing work to sell?

I’m currently practicing at a small firm doing various forms of litigation/corporate work. My fiancé and I are looking to move from the NYC/NJ area to a rural area in the south this year. I’ve received a conditional offer for an associate position at a small real estate firm, which is great. But, it’s about half of my current salary. I understand it’s different region, but I feel the offer is disproportionately less, even when considering cost of living. Anyone else ever do this? Any advice?

Up until last weekend, I was in the recruitment process for a summer associate role at EY-Parthenon Strategy, London UK. They sent me an email saying the program was cancelled due to covid, but I've heard nothing about this from any other source, so I'm a little suspicious...

Went through the first round interview at EY w 2 managers, with HR saying that I'll be due for the next round with Partner or Associate Partner soon (this was mid December 2020) - just got updated that they have chosen to proceed with another candidate 😭😔 Really wanted this role to pan out - numb doesn't come close to how I feel right now

I’m working in a large fund; market neutral public market strategy funds; am about to be recommended for a promotion to associate. However, an analyst position just opened up internally in Credit, which is where I aspire to be for the next ten years. More growth and more intellectual challenge. I’m conflicted about applying for a lateral transfer and losing out on a promotion. Will I be missing out a promotion or should I negotiate a promotion as part of my application to this role ?

Evening all, planning to move out to the UAE from Western Europe in the next year and looking for a role in consulting. Will have 3.5 years in big4 consulting (public sector and consumer goods projects mainly) and an MSc in Strategic management from a top European b-school. What are my prospects for MBB/T2 post-MBA Associate roles? Any insight/thoughts/advice welcome!

Is it a lateral move from Deloitte Consultant to PWC Senior Associate?

For context, I was up for promo last year but it was rescinded due to covid. SC promotion is “all but guaranteed” this cycle 🙄. I know PWC has an extra level with the new SM role so not sure if I’d be lateraling to SA3 from C at D? It’s a 40% base comp increase but just curious what the outside perception is... currently 3YOE, top right scatterplot. I’m thinking I could make M in a year or so but is that like SC at D??

To all the PwC folks in the group, what is the difference between experienced associate and senior associate at PwC. How does the hierarchy at PwC work? I am an associate at ZS with 2 years of work ex. Wondering what role would be better for a switch.

Anyone here a manager at Huron? Specifically healthcare consulting? Curious to your day to day, would love to chat. I spoke to recruiter for a Sr Associate position but she mentioned I could apply for manager. I’ve been a consultant for 4-5 years (but across 2 diff orgs) and have had few direct reports but hesitant on switch to manager?

I’m a BigLaw IP lit associate and I’ve applied for an in-house lit counsel role at a tech company. I’m a 4th year and they’re looking for someone in my range to help senior lit counsel. I’m looking for more info on in-house lit roles, particularly at companies with big enough departments to have more junior lit counsel (although not so big that it’s an entire lit team). My hope is a little better balance and fewer nasty meet&confers. Anyone made this transition? Am I delusional re balance?

Currently working as an IT consultant , I have certifications for Microsoft and AWS cloud services almost solution architect level for both. Working on that in February. I have 2 yrs exp in IT business consulting in a functional less technical space. Looking to pivot into data & analytics in an entry/associate level roles with these certifications what other experiences & skills should I have in order to come into an analytics role? UG Degree was quantitative but not technical chem engineering.

Had someone from PWC contact me about a position today as a Senior Associate. They said since I graduated in May 2017 and started working In Sept 2017, I would have just made Senior if I was a campus hire. Is that true? Y’all take 3 years to Senior.

Just got offer from Bain Capital for finance associate (guessing around 75% accounting work, 25% finance requests)
Take it, or try to jump to another big 4 to get into advisory/consulting?
Or wait until senior?
