Currently working in Valuations at one of the big 4 as a senior associate and was just offered a job in equity research. Caveat is the pay is 13% less than my current pay. Do you think it’s worth it to make the exit?

In my 11th year of practice. 3 years litigation and going on 8th in house (all 8 in the Atlanta metro area). Currently role is Associate GC. Previous in house roles were at Fortune 300 and fortune 100 company. Have had multiple opportunities present themselves to me but I’m not sure what to expect from a salary/bonus/equity stand point for the new roles. Any ideas of what I should be expecting?

What are some financial modeling skills I should learn to prepare for a BizOps Associate role at a FinTech?

Just got a job offer from a great private equity company in financial reporting, currently second year associate and part of a 6 person team and have a pretty large role on the client. The team is pretty condescending though, however I still feel bad giving my 2 weeks in the middle of busy season. The offer will not be extended if I don’t take it. Thoughts?

Is it crazy to give up a counsel role at lower tier biglaw for an associate role at higher tier biglaw? Pay (and hours) would be slightly more as an associate. It’s really more about better practice fit. Asking for a friend. 😅

Offer 1: t2/3 strategy, 150-170 all in consulting
Offer 2: M&A associate at big 4 (80K)

I’m really keen on VC, been working with start ups for a year or two, love it. I see that as my end goal or an investment role of some kind. I see offer 1 best comp but can’t help but realize banking is a more true path to VC, albeit ill likely need to lateral into a tmt group for a year at a big bank but it’s possible. Hey all, just wondering if anyone here has been through the referral process with McKinsey? An associate partner referred me two weeks ago and I haven't heard back yet. Trying to align McKinsey with my other interviews so hoping people here can give me a better idea. Also spoke with a senior partner a few days ago who said timeline shouldn't be an issue (after I explained everything) , but not sure if they actually looked into it or not.

Big law to a PI firm - does anyone have any experience making this move? Has anyone here left big law and come to regret it?

I’ve toyed with the idea of doing PI for years, and I’ve been interviewing with a multi-office, semi-volume-oriented PI firm. But it’s daunting. The initial pay won’t be nearly as much and that my exit options will be more limited once I leave.

That said, I don’t think my exit options as a litigator will be all that great if I go on to be a senior associate at my firm.

@PwC interviewed me for Manager role in workday practice and came back with an offer for Sr. Associate role with a far less base salary than what I am making now. Is it a routine negotiation trick ? Overall 13+ years of experience but new in WD. However WD FIN and PM certified.

Any tips for best places to search for estate planning jobs? LinkedIn, other places? I’ll likely need to leave my current associate EP attorney position at a small firm in CA to move to WA (Seattle area) due to my spouse’s new dream job. Nervous about the transition to new state’s law, plus the job search. Wondering if I should broaden my search to other areas of law. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Staff/Associate 2 thinking about jumping to a different big 4 for a senior role. Should I wait until a potential promotion to senior 1 at my current firm in the next 4-5 months?

Hi everyone, I have an initial interviewing coming with an IM consulting firm for an associate position on Tuesday.. I’m really interested in the position but I feel like I’m not so qualified.. (YOE etc..) any tips for overcoming this? I know if i got the job I’ll do well once I learned tho! What’re the tricks you used to convince interviewers that you can do the job albeit the “mismatch” on experience? Thank you so much!

What is the typical exit position for a 3rd year associate in audit?

Can anyone share insights on:
1) what role I should expect to be hired into at BCG with just under 2 YOE in consulting? And
2) what is the average comp for a second year associate or first year consultant in the NY office for BCG?

Associate in house position in healthcare industry - offering me roughly 22k less than what I make at my firm job but saying I can have equity and potential for bonus. Need advice about lateraling from top big law to a reputable litigation boutique as a rising senior associate? Solid position at the current firm but the group is too saturated to secure a promotion in near future. More visibility and potential at the boutique, but obviously it doesn't have the resources or reach of big law. Same pay scale.
