I’m a business analyst and I recently learned sql. I found it to be quite interesting. It’s making me want to transition into a more technical role, which is something I’ve always been interested in but never knew which area to focus on. I’m thinking of enrolling into a bootcamp or something similar and hopefully getting into more of data analyst roles. Any programs or boot camps you recommend? I was also considering a part time masters but not sure I can commit with how many hours I work.

What qualifications must one hold to get a role of Business Analyst into a company?

Working with an MNC from 2.5 years as Business Analyst (25), with B.tech in CSE & current CTC is 5.7, I see no growth in my job role bcz here the job role is completely of a non tech profile only MS office and my boss dont want me to grow either, I am a hardworking & dedicated person, should I go for MBA or switch organisation ?
Switching is a major issue rightnow bcz BA profile in other organisations require major skillset tho I am willing to work on all of them and learn.
Please help.

I am a 4.5 year old experienced business analyst. I don't hold a MBA degree and am just a Btech graduate. I am not getting enough calls for interviews. Passed one interview for the Scrum master role in Accenture, but they didn't offer as per my expectation and hence I rejected it. (which I now regret)
Is there any specific tools or any specific way that I should be preparing myself in order to bag interviews or offers?

I’m a business analyst L2 at a fin tech company in Miami. I have about 5.5 years experience. My base is 75K and bonus is about 10%. I suspect I may be underpaid but not sure. Before this job my experience was not directly in business analysis but transferable financial experience. My title is business analysis but I’m doing more consulting and implementation work than a true SDLC business analysis type role. What do you think? Am I underpaid? And if so, by how much?

What’s it like working for a university as in-house IT? Have an interview for a technical analyst role at a large DC university. Currently a Business Analyst in industry and not enjoying it. I know working for universities means certain perks (tuition discount, flexible time off). But anything else to consider?

Started a new job a month ago at a local marketing and analytics firm as a business analyst. I feel like it’s not a culture fit, but had the revelation I hate being a business analyst. I applied to a enterprise systems analyst role at a university as a long shot and they want to have an interview. It would allow me to learn about new technology but take on more of a team lead role which I’m also unsure about. I am planning to apply for a Business analyst role at Mckinsey, India (through their job portal). I have a prior consulting experience of 1.5 years at a globally known pharma consulting firm (ZS Associates). Would be very helpful if anyone from the Mckinsey network can answer if the firm hires BAs through lateral entry. Currently an L4 entry level manager at Amazon after graduating last year. I’ve been in this position for about 6 months after taking it as an opportunity to internally move into corporate.

I’ve been peeking at internal openings lately and have been at a crossroad on whether or not it’d be more valuable to move “down” per say in title to an Analyst/Business Analyst position or apply to other “entry” level manager positions like a Program Manager.

I started a new job in industry as a Business Analyst. In a very shy person who usually stays very quiet in meetings when I don’t have anything to contribute. But l met with one of my leaders today who told me he had hired me because he thinks I’m a go-getter, negotiator & outspoken. I’m interviewing for a Business Analyst role on a product marketing team of a higher ed tech company. I’m worried about not having enough skills to be a BA, like data and Tableau experience. Facing an interesting dilemma about compensation vs title and looking for advice. I am currently a Senior Manager in the industry (work in Financial Systems). I recently got an offer for a Senior Business Analyst role (total compensation of $250K) in the same city - my current comp is $170K. The role is a major step down in title and responsibilities but gives me almost 50% increase in TC. The only reason interviewed at all is the TC.
