Hey All! Current 1st year MBA student here really struggling on choosing an internship. I really wanted to pivot into a PM role, but getting some traction in other directions. Which internship offer would you say has the most upside?

1) FAAMG Product Marketing Manager

2) Gaming Tech Strategy (think Riot/Activision/Blizzard/King/EA/Epic). I have been told this is a pipeline to a rotational program or PM role

3) Forget PM, go MBB or bust and then try to pivot into big tech strategy&ops

Does MBB hire a lot at the manager level from other non-MBB firms?

I find myself at the bed of my MBA with two offers:
1-MBB in the Middle East
2-Boutique Bank 250 people doing healthcare Private Capital in Europe

If I go to the Middle East, I would join the Park team in the MBB (they already reached out) and I can eventually or move back to Europe and spend a year or two as manager and exit to PE ( I am not sure if I can exit to non operational roles)

If I stay in Europe I would lose on brand name and salary but I’ll be able to join a deal team.

Any advice

How does mbb experience (2 yrs) compare to top Ivy League undergrad degree in professional services in 30s?

Do new MBB laterals with work experience after getting a professional degree (medicine, law, etc) get credit for that experience? Or would, say, a fourth year law firm associate who goes into consulting start at the same pay level that a fresh MBA grad would?

Do you only get one interview at each MBB? Like if you get declined after interviews what’s the chances they reinvite you another year ?

How to optimize for early C suite position starting at MBB out of undergrad?

How hard is it to move from Tier 2 to MBB? Is it worth it?

Why is MBB obsessed with painting themselves as something greater than a for profit business where their core business is helping for profit companies be more profitable? All of this "changing the world" seems a bit hypocritical to me. Nothing wrong with making money by the way!

Has anyone ever rejected an offer to work at MBB because of feeling like it would be too much? For me, I like working from home, being with my family after 6/7pm, etc. I just feel as if everyone I’ve talked to enjoy MBB more bc of travel, hard grinding, which obviously leads to higher comp. Is this to say it’s not meant for everyone? I wouldn’t want to be a low performer because I don’t like working 70/80 hour weeks and missing time with family and friends.

I recently interviewed for a Chief of Staff role. All they seemed to care about was if my experience lined up with someone who would come from MBB. Like why even interview me if you’re already going to reject me based on brand name?

Anyone have experience moving from B4 (manager) to MBB. Are lateral moves common or more likely to be brought in a level down?

Hey fishes, sorry kinda niche question but do you guys have any thoughts on insurance brokers setting up their own Consulting and Tech advisory arm? (Aon, WTW, Marsh excl. OW)

I can imagine it is similar in other industries. Do you see that as direct competitors to MBB/B4 Consulting firms?

Would you say it’s harder to get into MBB or boutique strategy? Answer seems obvious at first, but some boutiques have less than 30 people in my regional office. Unless they get no applicants, they must be hyper selective

I now intend to explore roles on client(Chemical Companies) side (like SCM, Planning, Strategy) but unsure how do I go about it.

What should be an ideal career roadmap for someone like me. How should I prepare/do in order to pivot towards those roles?

PS. I'm a BE Chemical Engineering, and no MBA.
