Would you accept a title loss to move from T2 to MBB? Really good impression from practice and partners, however would bump from Manager to Senior Consultant level.

Up for promo ~12 months post joining, with initial hit in comp being mitigated with signing bonus. Would be a bump as soon as promo goes through.

However would mean ~1yoe seniority loss (although quite early in career)

I have 3.5 yrs experience in IT project management, and I am interested in consulting. Based on compensation rates, I am open to entry-level (associate) positions at MBB firms. Is it a better idea to apply to entry-level positions now, apply as an EH to a Big4, or wait a few months to have the strongest application? I am looking at generalist consulting, not tech/IT specific.

Interviewing at PwC. Is it normal for a SA role (internal services) to have a salary of 70-75k?

Hi All, I am currently working in IT services based out of Canada as a director with a base salary of $190K. I got an offer from IBM Consulting Canada to join their Hybrid Cloud Computing Group as an Associate Partner - Multicloud in the Financial Services Sector. IBM Consulting offers a base salary of 240K CAD plus bonuses and benefits. Is this a good offer? Any feedback on the work culture at IBM Consulting Canada, particularly in their cloud unit?

Make 115k TC at 3YOE in risk/PMO, dislike consulting and don’t see much future there anymore currently.

Anyone feel the need to alert the greater world about a terribly toxic workplace? I’ll go first - all fish here should avoid working for Marsh Advisory (specifically strategic risk and emerging risk consulting). Culture is awful, management is hypocritical abusive bullies, project delivery is always fumbled and the responsibility falls onto junior staff, no growth potential, and bad comp. You’d be better off working in a real consulting firm.

Has anyone here made a big career change that required a reset? Think strategy consultant > backend SWE? How did you deal with the reset in salary? Was it hard to make the switch? Are you happier now?

Older folks who are motivated to keep climbing the ladder- what drives you? For reference, a 45 year old ex consultant in industry. Doing decently well on level and happy with compensation. Want to maximize time with kids and wife and learn new languages, play golf etc. if noting, just sit in the backyard with a drink and relax. More so than the increase in money or level. Feel I could have pushed myself more but do what is needed but definitely not what it used to be 10 years ago.

What’s the first year total comp of partner at MBB and average years of experience if homegrown?

Really curious: Does anyone know what’s the history behind the huge gap between Big 4 jobs in the US and in Europe? While it seems it’s a prestigious job with good pay in the US, over here in Europe their bar for hiring is rather low and the pay is really uncompetitive (not speaking of the strategy arms like EYP or Strategy&)
Edit: I am not comparing US salary to Europe but comparing the two jobs within the county/continent with other alternatives of the candidates + the reputation

I’ve seen a couple threads on bonus structures in consulting. I’ve been at ICF for 1 performance cycle and didn’t see a bonus. Maybe bc i was too low in the org structure. Anyone at ICF that can speak to who gets a bonus, when, and how the % is decided on? Is this something you negotiate when hired?

Reason: More expensive in niche IT segment

I left Deloitte US 3 years ago (after 5 years) to move abroad and join a member firm, then left there a year ago (after 2 years) and joined industry. I reached back out to Deloitte US to boomerang back. I left as an SC, joined the member firm as M, and am hoping to come back as final-year M up for promo. I work in Human Capital GPS.

What I can expect in terms of pay/sign-on bonus/vacation time?
