Is consulting WORTH the MONEY?

Just finished an interview for an AE role at a high-growth SaaS organization.

The interviewer told me that their quotas are very high - barely any of their sales reps hit quota YoY. They mentioned, “goals are high to push our reps. hence our YoY growth”

Is this a red flag?

Any thoughts on DesignStudio NY these days? it seems pretty hectic at the moment from their reviews. Curious about their latest work too.

Bought an Uplift standing desk that arrived Friday. Something is giving an error so it will not raise out of the bottom 22 inch height. Called them and was told it has to go to warrenty team who doesn't work weekends and takes 2-3 days to review the case.

TLDR : I bought a thousand dollar oversized coffee table......

Is it normal to get a 50-80k raise for a promotion within a company?? I heard someone say they had 2 offers within a company so both teams were fighting for them, and another offer outside of the company, so his current company bumped his pay from $110k OTE to $180k.

Just a rant on how absolutely stupid the bar is. The fact that I’ve been a well-regarded attorney for many years now but just because I moved states, I need to provide references for every random volunteer position I had going back to college, plus need 8 personal references who can’t overlap with employment references, all just to be authorized to keep practicing law at the exact same law firm I’ve been at for years, is absolutely insane. Not to mention the fees are over a thousand dollars.

Don’t know where else to post this, seeking advice: I was let go 4 days after telling my company about my pregnancy. No reason given. Was abusive, horrid company and my direct manager (COO) knew the issues and that the CFO was talking shit about me in a meeting I had already joined, etc. C Suite mentioned numerous times that they are advising me to ‘protect me’ from CFO, etc. A lawyer told me to ask them for bigger severance than offered because was bait and switch and also discriminatory.(Cont)

anybody taking off for the eclipse?

I’m a federal law clerk struggling to land interviews. I’ve had what I thought were positive interviews with several big law firms and many of those went through 2-3 rounds. I am prepared to answer substantive questions about my work and my resume, and I have enjoyable conversations about other areas of myself and the law firms as well. Of course, this is only my perspective. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I’d really like to fix it. Any advice or words of optimism?

I’m thinking about reassessing my level. Maybe I’ll be happier as an ACD than a CD. Anyone ever felt this way?

Looking for senior people’s input (i.e. manager and above). Does seeing people post on here and actually leaving pa as staff and seniors for jobs in industry because of higher pay now solidify (cntd)

I had a break down in law school. I was briefly hospitalized and missed part of a semester. I feel guilty about it. I have issues, but looking back a lot of it was a combination of my existing alcohol use, depression, and immaturity. I have flashes of memories of me begging to be hospitalized because I felt so sad and afraid of failure. I don't know why I acted that way,. I don't like that person, and it's hard for me to imagine a world where I find peace despite my terrible behavior. Cont
