My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

What programs do my fellow HR managers recommend as far as personality assessments for hiring ?

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?

Thoughts on Wealth Management as an industry? Offered a role to work under a senior FA and eventually take over the book (~$800M AUM and growing). It sounds great, but I am worried about the disruption this industry is facing with Robo advisors and other low cost, DIY options. I’d want to make sure the clients stay through the transition, and I don’t want to join a dying industry. Thoughts and advice?

My brother has 8 YOE post his Masters with a US bank in their rates trading division as a software developer- managing, supporting and developing software for pricing trade executions, risk management and reporting requirements for the trading desk. He wants to pivot out of banking and maybe look for an opportunity with FAANG or with MBB/Tier2 consulting. I have been continuously harassed, ridiculed and spoken down to by a coworker who’s now even “threatened” to get me fired etc. We do not have an HR department and the only manager I can go to is also mistreated and not taken seriously. Does it matter if I don’t meet the specific job requirements when transferring H1B? The job posted requires CPA license but I haven’t got it. The employer is still willing to hire me. I know for PERM process, meeting minimum requirements is important but not sure if H1B have such requirement. I heard that for H1B as long as it’s a position requiring bachelors degree and specifically occupation that should be fine. But kinda worried about this.

Hi all 🙂👋🏻 Apologies for such a late post. I have an offer of 18 CTC(1L joining bonus) from Larsen & Toubro Infotech & 12.5 fixed from IBM .
My joining in both are in around May last week. Tomorrow my IBM pre onboarding HR will connect with me. Should I ask for a counter offer tomorrow itself?
Or should I ask 2 weeks before joining?
Many told me that companies revise CTC when the joining date is near, else they show less interest. So should I go for it now itself?
