Anyone that expects a government bailout of student loans hasn't paid any attention to Republicans and their position on them. They would make everyone pay back all the pause era payments if they could. Bailouts are reserved for the wealthy.
Yeah and they are really dreaming thinking anything big will happen in an election year.
I think a lot of people were expecting a Government bailout that never materialized. Now they wondering if another bailout is right around the corner, so they are not sure if they should start paying or just wait little more.Nothing like over promising and under delivering.
I just can't believe the amount of some of the loans people owe. I wish tuition was more reasonable but doubt that will change. My son is a senior in high school and I am trying to navigate the waters so I can find a good school without saddling him with 100k in loans.
Why? Many of the countries that have free higher education also have conscription requirements.
I started paying in September and then a couple weeks ago I get a notice that I was still in forbearance with 0% interest and payments until end of 2023. Mohela is all over the place.
I received the same notice, but I've continued paying on the interest anyway.
Not so Fun fact: autopay did not go into effect until November but servicers failed to communicate that delay to the borrowers. Therefore many borrowers who enrolled in autopay and expected to have their payment withdrawn in October didn’t have that payment withdrawn and were told they were delinquent on payments.
And that’s if you can get approved—I recently reported my servicer to the CFPB for this reason.
When I use my bank account for one time payments—no issue. When I try to enroll my bank account for autopay (and interest rate deduction) I get an error that there is an issue with a bank account 🙄
