Any advice for applying to places like Facebook, twitter, google, etc? Does formally applying even do anything or do you need to know people to refer you!

It helps tremendously if you know someone. Consider asking people at your firm to help if you’re okay with letting them know that’s your goal. A well respected partner’s rec counts for a lot. Actually serious. It’s BD.

Yes, have gotten interviews at these places just by applying

You don’t need references

Hope you’re 100% vaccinated. My husband and I are, and I’m pro-vaccine, but he is a construction contractor for Google, and there is a huge controversy right now with them requiring people to be vaccinated to be on site. They are looking at sub contractors walking off the job, and some Google employees have expressed their complaints and worries to him. So just FYI, it’s an issue right now for Google employees.

It depends. I got a job through cold applying, but having references/getting an internal referral definitely helps

What are some good interview questions for this level and type of role? I have a few in mind, but would love to pick the group's brain as I have never interviewed anyone for a Director role before.

Thanks in advance!!

Hello hive mind. I am currently interviewing with three agencies. Pretty far along with two of them. One of the positions is a Jr. copywriter position while the other two are just for a copywriter. I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.
