Any book recos for dating someone with anxiety? Also open to any general advice as well. In a LTR and my partner falls into deep periods of anxiety and it takes sometime to bring him back. Weighs on me sometimes but I love him so here we are. I am in therapy myself so that helps but interested in understanding anxiety more and how it impacts relationships (I.e., feels like we sometimes take a couple steps forward then one step backward).

I have terrible anxiety, abandonment, and anxious attachment issues. This has been the doom of all my relationships so far, including my most recent break up. No one can take my intensity, and my anxious type makes them more avoidant. It’s terrible really. I commend you for sticking with him. I’m sure he appreciates that.

I also have really bad anxiety and it’s great that you’re being so supportive of your partner! One that I’m reading now that I really like is Calm the F*** Down by Sarah Knight. It has a really light tone and there’s some cursing but it’s pretty spot on for me a lot of times. Another one is Rewire Your Brain by John B. Arden. It’s more technical and it teaches you a lot not just about coping with intrusive thoughts but also why you have them. Hope you find this useful!

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Would you recommend Sedona during Christmas or San Diego during Christmas with a 1.5 year old? Entertainment, safety, meaningful experience-focused.

Sedona will be much colder, possibly snowing/icy and will be hiking, hot tub, enjoying the scenery focused. San Diego will be beach, enjoying scenery focused. Both Airbnb options look beautiful. Will also have 60 year old grandparents joining

I’ve worked at places that all have different holiday policies. EA has at minimum a nice 10 day shutdown from Christmas Eve through New Years. It’s great to know that there will be no slack messages or an exploded inbox to come back to while away. I’ve been at other studios that only give you Christmas Eve & Day and New Years Eve & Day and then the rest is up to you to request for PTO and this is obviously the suck.
