Take me with you... I’ll split moving costs. I’m trying to live in Dallas or Houston
I just relocated to TX from NYC but I’m in Dallas. Overall TX has been great. I have heard good things about San Antonio.
Dallas would be better to raise family. SA is a very boring town and there’s not much around except the river walk
I did the same thing but from a different metro city. Some considerations for you...good food choices outside of tex-mex is limited. Events (concerts, stand-up, circus etc.) usually skip this city in favor of Austin. Not much to do here and even the tourist attractions suck.
Finally, there isn't a "real" Deloitte office here so you'll have to choose between Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Ever feel like flying to your office city on Thursday for networking or events to get home Friday evenings? Nope not me...
Stone Oak: far north of downtown but nice suburb residential area
Alamo Heights: Old money neighborhood
Pearl District: New development with restaurants, farmers market etc. Apartment living
LA Cantera/RIM: Area around the big mall
I'm in SA. It's a decent place to raise a family, but bad for travel. There aren't enough direct flights.
HEB is a plus. I'll def miss this when I move away from here
Not for consultants or parents. Schools are not that good. Flight options aren’t great.
Better to live in Austin and drive down there once in a while as a get away. They have sea world and six flags.
Better than SA IMO. But not as good as Dallas / Houston. In addition to airport Austin has a lot more to offer than SA.
