Anyone in an administrative role...have you ever been treated as an inferior, whether outright and straightforward or unwittingly by coworkers or management? Even if you are more knowledgeable than the person to whom you report? Have you ever been the recipient of "stay in your lane" type feedback when you have tried to go above and beyond? What have you done in response if you have? Do you feel as if there are opportunities for you to move up in your company? Or do you feel "stuck"?

I have a wee crush on one of the partners in my firm and I thought he liked me too, but neither of us did anything about it (which is entirely appropriate). That was all pre-Rona. Now I’m leaving the firm and pursuing another opportunity and staying in the same city. Since he’ll no longer be my boss, is there a way to find out if my feeling was correct? My hands are shaking!! I just got off a call with my toxic manager who is clearly not happy I am being poached for another division. In my company it seems like it’s a white boys club where and they just promote white ppl because they’re white. At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I ended cutting my hand on an exacto knife and there was no first aid! Is this normal?

I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center).
