I’ve been in Dallas since college and am about to turn 40. Plenty of single 30 somethings here, and more move here every day. Tons of book clubs, running or workout groups, volunteer and networking organizations. If you want to you can easily stay busy and socialize constantly. Plus most people actually go to work in person here at least a few days a week so can actually make friends with colleagues. The dating scene seems huge and endless. I’m about to be divorced so will have to re-enter that fray…
I’m early 30s and moved here from NYC with my partner. I think there’s definitely more opportunity to make new relationships easily in NYC because of the population density, but then you also run into people in our age-group moving out of the city into the outer burroughs or suburbs as they settle down. I hated being single and trying to date in NYC, but I also found some of my best girlfriends in the city and we’re all still very close even though we’re now scattered across the country.
All of my friends in Dallas are people I met at work or family in the area, but we admittedly haven’t been great about getting into our hobbies here and trying to make friends because we’re moving to a suburb soon and would rather put down firmer roots in the community where our house is. I think dating may be easier for you in Dallas but it depends on the types of guys you’re looking for and what you want your next 5 years to look like.
Dallas is my third major relocation. It’s the hardest scene to crack compared to Tampa and Vegas. Would not do again
