I been at my job for three year now, for a while now I been applying for other positions within my job because I want to leave my department. I don’t feel value and appreciated. They would rather hired a new manager than promote within. After a long and extensive interview process (2 months & 12 rounds of interviews) I finally heard back that they are very interested in offering me the job. My Current base is $135k (in NJ) and my ask is $180K (in NYC). But base comp ceiling for the position grade is $165k and they are willing to offer one time payment to make up for the gap between the offer & the ask. Any thoughts? The role has very upward potential in next couple of years.
