For context — I SDR’d as a senior in college and was promoted to AE right as I took a BA offer from McKinsey. Am I crazy for thinking that the level 1 certification is extremely, unspeakably hard? I’ve gone through the videos twice now and still can’t get through it. The jump from the video exercises to the exam is enormous

Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. People at my company claim to be supportive, promote great work culture but there’s actually no support at all just bunch of bs. Sometimes I just want a job where I can work hard and produce good outputs but not have to manage people, politics, and all the accountability. Being in middle management makes work consume my life. Moved to industry recently. I used to feel super guilty and anxious if I stepped away from my computer even for a bit. I had a micromanager prior to my current job which I think is why I still feel guilty if I’m not always online. Even for stepping away for lunch, I make sure I’m always checking my teams app on my phone in case something pops up. But they don’t, because people value their WLB here. How do I stop feeling so anxious or guilty whenever I take some time for myself?
