Bullying - why is there so much low-level bullying in our industry? I left my previous role due to a very aggressive manager and deliberately chose a new employer with a lovely manager. Unfortunately she is now off with stress due to our very tricky chief exec. To answer my own question, I suspect it is about unrealistic expectations on what PR can achieve and people saying yes to too much.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

How do you set boundaries at work?

Anyone else struggle with lots of team events/dinners during the week? I love my team but need me time at night to be my best self. 1 night out is my max. Thoughts on explaining it to team?

I started a new job as an “office manager” at the end of January. The duties seem to align more with those of an EA, and I’m ok with that. Except my boss is a control freak.
