Bonus? RSU? I think you’re thinking of Accenture MDs. Partners are owners of the company. They have a comp calculated on the projected firm profits for the coming year with a percentage advanced to them over the fiscal year. There’s then a year end final payout with an adjustment by for actual firm performance. No RSUs you have an equity stake in the firm.
As your target compensation increases you’re expected to inject an incremental amount of equity into your capital account. The capital loan process usually covers this increment in a similar fashion to the initial capital. Of course you could pay the increment from your own cash but with the way the partner capital loan versus capital account interest works most just use the loan.
