Burnout is super normal. Take 3-4 weeks off around the holidays.
If you really think it may be depression, professional help >>>>> fishbowl opinions.
OP yes , it can happen in a few months of a new job if you have been grinding with the goal of ramping up fast. Take some time off
If you want a chill environment with halfday Friday’s (33.5 work hr week) and excellent WLB, come to Fannie Mae. We don’t have too many positions open right now due to the market but it will pick up in January. Willing to refer!
Do you hire internationals?
Because consulting is somewhat soulless job. The biggest problem with consulting is not the long hour or high standard — the problem is that our job gives us no meaning and we don’t feel like we are fulfilled by our labor. I totally feel you op. Take a break, really, and think about what you want. If you realize that you got enough money to live and can take a 50k job, go for it. If you really need money again with your t10 undergrad and mba you can find good jobs.
That data entry job for 50k a year seems so enticing at times.
Newton’s 3rd law- what goes up must come down. chill for a minute, you’ll balance out.
Fuck…

Ahh, I’m new to FB and can’t figure out the DM feature. Thought I had enough likes, but still not sure how to activate
Not relatable but I did something similar, no fancy schools or high paying job but I ended up at Big 4 audit practice as an accountant, I earned nominal but more than what I needed. However after all the flashy lifestyle, I wanted to just exit and work in something that is more rooted to ground, I took a job with NGO with 50 percent pay cut and went to a rural village.
And it was not how I expected, life may seem relaxed but sadly enough I was waiting to get back to my corporate life, and here I am in west, after 2 years working as a Consultant in Big 4. These thoughts can go away easily with a small vacation, try taking small trips and spending money. It will help you feel grateful of what all you are capable of with that pay check.
No you dont
Then what is it
