I don't think you understand the concept of severance - no, you don't get paid extra for your decisions....
lol
Only if fired / reduced and not for cause (you haven't committed fraud, etc). In either case you will get paid out remaining PTO.
OP if that was the case, people would quit at even higher rates..
@D2 explain...
You get only if you are laid off.
Only if let go. Something may or may not be defined in your employment contract but severance is only typically contractually guaranteed at more senior levels. Any remaining accrued vacation will be paid out regardless of departure method.
Yeeeeeah that makes sense...I'm dum w/e
Quit: No severance
Laid off: You will get a severance, typically 1 week for every year of service, but often more.
Fired for cause: Nothing, there's the door
Please note, termination due to chargeability can be either a layoff or for cause. You need to confirm with HR which it is.
A2- believe it's 2 weeks for every year of service
😂
At D I'm pretty sure severance is 2 weeks per year of service
Damn 2 wks per year? That seems like it could add up
The whole point of severance is to have one final string to pull to control you after you leave.
It's one week per year. I was a few days away from being laid off earlier this year.
I'm CDO. So your alignment might determine the amount you get as well. Search the portal for the official policy.
