Get me a job in Google please
I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. It’s unique to advertising because client side roles have raises every year. They don’t need a promotion to see their paycheck go up. For us, we have to fight to try to stay even near inflation rates, never mind ahead of it.
Hi!
From my experience, we all have “those moments” :)
Here’s what you may want to consider asking yourself:
- where do you think you should be in your career instead? Try to be as specific as possible.
- what skills, knowledge, experience you might be lacking to get “there”?
- whom can you speak with about your goals and set up a plan?
- what support might you need?
Also, what’s the first smallest step you want to do about this?
Wish you all the best! :)

Realistically speaking, where do you “advance” in a career in sales? Literally you either just keep selling and make more money, or you move into management which a lot of the time makes less money frankly.
Well if you sell local, you move up to regional, then national, then global. I've been client side since 2016. The goal to advance would be to administer bigger types of clients and accounts when you change roles.
