I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

People that have small children - how do you deal with your child’s stress and separation anxiety when you go to work? My 4-year old goes berserk almost every day at some point relating to me having to work. The worst part is that I’ve been working from home bc of Covid and I’m literally just walking upstairs after giving hugs and kisses and saying see you soon 800 times. My spouse is a stay at home parent, but that doesn’t seem to matter to my son. A piece of me dies everyday because of this.

What cheat sheets do you all use for writing IEP goals? Is it from the district?

Question about IEP goals if anyone can help. If a student has an OT goal (say being able to zip coat or put on shoes without assistance) and the IEP says person responsible is the OT, is that all on them? I understand I could also work on it too in class but when IEP comes, they are responsible for writing the IEP portion and talking about that? Same with speech and language provider?

I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... HELP! 30+ years of teaching Sped and I’m at a loss. 6th grade student in Middle School with Doose syndrome. Prior to MS, the elementary said he never caused problems. Since the 1st day, he is disruptive in class, refuses to work, and is disrespectful. He has a one-on-one para but she is in tears most days because of his behavior. Parents agreed with a behavior plan - he thinks it’s a game. Parents say he is not allowed to be this way at home.

Without warning it looks like we'll be switching from consultant teaching to inclusion...what do I need to know. Never co-taught or done inclusion except for years and years ago and it was very informal. Best ways to build a solid relationship with the classroom teacher you're paired with?
