Honestly I'm sure it's fine, but as a fellow Utah teacher I have faced more scrutiny as a working mom than any other state I've worked in. The irony of a state that cares so much about family values but disrespects mothers so much is painful to me. But I say do it anyways!!
I feel like its because anyone who owned a house before 2020 can afford to live on one income and they almost look down on you if you can't do that, or if you're not following the traditional mold. I totally feel you, I just try to ignore the hate and focus on what I need to do to help provide for my family.
Teachers where I work have their own kids in the room all the time- but it has to be after students leave. Ask first.
Oh for sure I would never dream of having my kids in there with my actual students!
It depends on whether your child is young or is unable to occupy themselves independently.
See that's the risky part. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old that are both very active and love exploring. Even when a show is on they have a hard time staying contained!
We had several teachers who had their own kids in their room after students left. It was a daily thing. Nobody cared!
