Unlimited PTO 😍

like

We get Paid Time Off, plus 5 days of sick time (can be used for your own illness or dr appts or family’s). We also have short term disability and long term disability.

I don’t really understand what you are asking about the difference? Our PTO is essentially vacation time. It is not unlimited, but you get more with seniority. We can roll over part of our PTO days but not sick time.

like

Our company gives just flat “paid time off” all lumped together regardless of if sick, vacation, personal days it can be used for whatever.

like

Just a guess at what the author feels is the difference is between the two based on my job experience. I once worked for an organization in which you earned vacation time and sick time each pay period. At the time of retirement, the unused vacation time could be added as service time to increase the monetary retirement benefit. Unused sick time, however, is paid out as a lump sum.
PTO can be used however you wish or need it for and cannot be added as service to a retirement benefit. If the company pays out unused time upon retirement/quitting/termination, it is usually paid as a lump sum.

like

PTO. Vacation time is no more.

like

we have unlimited “MTO” - managed time off and 15 actual sick days. If sick days unused they don’t roll over.

like

PTO used for anything. No separate vacation or sick time

like

Both, actually. I find it unfair to the rest of my coworkers, as I have been paid for things relating to my kids in the amount of about 6 weeks PTO, along with a full 2 week vacation.

like

At my company i get 10 sick days a year, 10 carers days if a direct relative is sick and 20 vacation days a yeat

like

Current company separates vacation and sick days, which is silly. All my previous employers gave “all in” paid time off - you take time off for whatever reason, comes out of your total

like

What is the difference?

Pto= paid time off. Some uk companies do that but it's stupid. If you were to take a full month off they would just fire you. You have to do it tactfully

My company gives me 30 days off in london

Anyone have any recommendations on how to get a better deal? Any discount codes? Thank you in advance!!

Manager told me I can’t take time off for my “appointment” Interview, what do I do from here? It already scheduled with people who are really high up in the company.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different
