If you can switch off with your spouse, that’s just one 2-hour appointment per month, and it’s planned in advance. Should be doable?
This is our current plan now. I think I was just a bit initially overwhelmed after a normal Dr's appt, the multiple assessment appts, and then scheduling therapy appts. Ahhh!
Both of my kids are autistic. My wife WFH in-house so I am lucky she covers most doctors appts. I’ve also had a lighter couple of years billables-wise which has helped. I also would strongly recommend that you look into ABA therapy.
Thanks, I'll take a look
My autistic daughter gets all her services in school through her IEP. We did have to Sue the New York department of education but she’s in a wonderful place with everything on site. Even like music therapy.
I don’t know your financial situation but there are schools that specialize in neurodivergent kids. It’s been great for some of my coworkers but they aren’t cheap.
I have a son on the spectrum who also has ADHD (I’ve heard that ADHD may be considered part of the spectrum at some point and as someone with ADHD, that makes sense to me) and then a son with ADHD inattentive type. We utilize school resources as much as possible, but inevitably between those two kids, my two undiagnosed kids (who I think also have ADHD, one has some other health issues), and myself I just cry, work, and don’t sleep. I also work out and I drive the kids to school on three different towns. If you find answers, I am so ready to hear it. I just find myself working at night and early morning and all day in between.
