For those with multiple mortgages/properties, how many do you own and in what cities did you invest in?

I racked up about $20k in credit card debt due to a confluence of things happening at once (move, school expenses , etc ). I have a fair amount of paper assets but not a much free cash. Assets are down a decent amount with the current market cycle and I’d prefer not to sell them to cover the debt , although they easily could. Any suggestions how to handle the credit card debt without racking up tons of ongoing card interest?

Have about 5k to invest - should I do FXAIX or FSKAX?

Having trouble selling my (retired) dad's house. It needs a lot of work, but has great character. What if I buy it myself for a low, low price? Then I would be able to get a FHA 203k loan to do the updates. Rent it out or put it back on the market in the spring.

I have my Apple Watch automatically sync with the app that tracks our activities and it works great. Problem is I started using NRC (Nike run Club) app for runs and it interferes with the Workout app on my Apple Watch and it doesn’t get tracked. Looked at a house (new build) and MIL said the vinyl windows imply the whole house is probably made with cheap, shoddy materials. She thinks everything has to be wood Marvin windows or bust. 1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

Anyone have any luck selling a condo in chicago using Redfin? The 1% fee for listing is attractive compared to the standard 6% with an agent. Are there extra fees with RedFin that I should be aware of? Looking to sell as quickly as possible so weighing the options and just starting to interview agents and look around for the best way to get my place listed.

Anyone else a landlord on a condo unit? Any recommendations for landlord condo insurance? Do I need to look specifically for an insurer that provides this specific plan or do most insurers have an option for landlord condo?

I saw this townhouse in a prime location in my city for $350k (cheap for the area). The floors are all messed up though but the buyer said they’ll either lower the house price or give a credit for closing cost. There’s also a lot of nicks here and there (some locks missing from door, dents, scratches, stains, and some things are loose). But overall, the house’s architecture and design is so beautiful. Would it be worth it to get it and fix it up? Or find a newer house with less maintenance?

Closing on my first home. Advice for anyone with student loans in administrative forbearance per the Cares act: once your offer is accepted have you student loan servicer put your account back in repayment status.

Accounts in forbearance, even administrative forbearance, are calculated at a higher monthly payment by the underwriter.

My fictitious debt to income ratio was too high for them to approve me, and it took seven days for my loan to be officially back in repayment. So just a heads up.
