Former Senior Manager in Advisory here - does anyone feel like it’s a steep wall trying to break into tech industry for any role that has a manager title (e.g., Manager, XYZ Function)? I exited as a Senior Program Manager (IC role), I could absolutely not find anyone in industry willing to trust me managing people. Has anyone felt the same? What’s the reason for this wall? I’ve managed tons of teams and managed their career dev while at Big 4...what am I not seeing that I should see?
