Getting married next week. Any advice for making sure the morning of goes smoothly?

Has anyone ever left someone because they don’t want to live a healthy lifestyle? My SO is so unhealthy but doesn’t want to do anything or believes they can’t

I’ve been dating a guy who’s in the process of separating from his husband. I’ve found it emotionally difficult that he is not available as much as would be expected - he has to sleep at home most nights, we can’t really have a social life together yet, our weekend time together is weaved in around his family obligations (they have a child), etc. How do I tell whether I’m being unreasonable or whether I’m in an unhealthy situation?

Real talk, how does anyone start new relationships while working our jobs? Moved to a new city for this job and we all know the hours.

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth

Hi everyone - We are thinking of changing our wedding photographer after unsatisfactory engagement photos and unsatisfactory communication (unresponsive after multiple attempts). We paid a $450 retainer which we know will be not refundable. However, we are not sure about other liability as we read our contract and found these 2 clauses (in comments). Please advise! Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!

For those who had Catholic ceremonies.. What kind of shoes did you wear that had bottom soles that looked nice in pics? In other words, shoes with bottoms that don’t look scratched up when you are kneeling at the altar.

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(

Getting married in September, have a vax only policy for guests. My fiancé’s sister is bringing her unvaccinated spouse to the hotel where all the wedding festivities are being held b/c she is too scared to fly on an airplane without him. I find this incredibly uncomfortable and selfish given it will put me and my fiancé in an uncomfortable position (and it will also put my elderly parents and other vulnerable fam members at risk). We’re having an Indian wedding on a Sunday with ceremony in the morning, followed by lunch, and then cocktail hour + reception.

Given that the wedding starts early, we will have guests (~30) flying in the day before. What is the expectation in terms of arranging dinner for them? We’re trying to avoid having an additional event Saturday night - any idea on if these guests would need to have food arranged for them by us and what that could look like on a cost effective budget.

I just got engaged on Sunday (!!) and my ring is just a little big. I’m reading online that most jewelers won’t resize a rose gold ring. Has anyone had any issues with this? I could go back to the family jeweler who designed the ring and would do it for free but the ring was designed in Michigan and I live in Chicago. Is it worth it to drive to Michigan to get it taken care of there?
