Got laid off a month ago after 1.5 years despite great snapshots and utilization. Was just offered a consulting position at a much smaller local firm for $5,000 less than what I was making before

Sorry to hear OP...no idea why we bother with Snapshots when it's clear that only two things matter: 1) Utilization 2) Having Partners in your CRT who like you

like

Wait what? What practice and what reason did they give you?

Which practice OP?

That sucks :(

Is it a job for which you're qualified? Is there room to advance in the organization? Does it pay more than the unemployment check you're getting/gonna get?

@S&1 you nailed it

Damn. What reason could a firm have for getting rid of an employee that's well utilized?

But his util was good..

Mine was shit and I sill got promoted

See if you can negotiate any extra PTO. They can sometimes manage that easier than salaries.

Been w/ my bf 5.5 yrs, but I keep wondering when he's going to "get it together". He's been fired from 2 manager jobs in less than a year, one because he was caught doing coke there (off-duty). Now he's bartending under the table. I have huge concerns that he has serious drug/alcohol problems but it also just boils down to, does he want to improve? He's the kindest, sweetest person and we really love each other. But at some point I need my partner in his mid-30s to have a savings account 🤷‍♀️

This is a legit question so don’t hate me just trying to understand if it’s worth it or not. What is the draw of applying to M7? I understand elite status, but based on research the median total comp for an M7 grad is 185k as of 2020 study (2019 data) and the average age of the students in these programs is 27/28. I know going to MBB they have pretty specific comp coming out for M7 grads but outside of those three firms, what is the draw? Trying to justify spending 200k for a degree.
