Has anyone in here ever submitted paperwork to their employer regarding their disability to protect their job?
I don’t think I’m being treated fairly. In fact, I feel targeted and discriminated.

If you need accommodations, request them ASAP

Ideally, before problems arise, but new problems (and supporting) can crop up anytime, so we cannot always be perfectly proactive.

Regarding accommodations: Taylor them to what YOU need to be able to do your work.
Focus on accommodations (changes that do not alter the essential functions of the job).
For example, providing alternate ways to do the job (flexible hours, digital submission, collaboration using distance technology might be reasonable accommodations in many jobs.
However, work-from-home might not be a reasonable accommodation for a ER intake nurse. The job really requires on-for personnel (but there could be circumstances where WFH might be appropriate for a supervisory ER nurse, especially for a short-term need where the individual could be training others.

Your employer may require medical proof of your disability and your need for the accommodations you request.
They may NOT require your full medical record, etc.

After your formal request, document, document, document!
Insurances where you need an accommodation that was not available.
The adverse impacts to you of your employer's family to progress requested accommodations.

Keys to success:
ASK for accommodations

Provide medical support if requested

DOCUMENT issue where accommodations were needed and not provided

In addition to your formal request for reasonable accommodations, you will need medical

I was in the process of that, but found another job before it was done. Paperwork is good to protect you. Only a matter of time before something happens, in my opinion, if they are already treating you differently.

What types of work accommodations can help people with ADHD? I am starting to believe 35+ of having not managed my ADHD has really negatively impacted me in career growth etc. I'm realizing a lot of things about myself are because of the ADHD. I want better for myself and family but 1. I don't enjoy the same things forever 2. Imposter syndrome and RSD make me believe it's acceptable to start over in new places at low salaries. 3. Typical college won't work for me. 4. I also can't relocate.

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to limit distractions during the work day and none of it has worked. Working from home has only made it 100 times worse because now I know there are other more interesting things to be distracted by all around me. What do you do to hold focus during working hours? What will get me to be able to work for longer than 35 minutes without getting distracted?

My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision.
