Has anyone notice a significant increase in rep cold calls (emails)? Every since I joined a new agency last year, the emails have been non-stop. Even one rep reached out to me on my very first day…I’m speaking with a vendor if they would be relevant to my clients but a lot of them are not. I’m trying to ignore them but it is a lot. How do you handle all the oncoming rep emails?

1. Don’t pick-up the phone. 2. Create an automated rule in outlook for incoming e-mails from anyone outside of your client list or preferred vendors to be routed to that folder. Check it everyday when you get a break for the first week then slowly pivot to every other day. Once you capture strictly the noise then create an automated reply rule with the verbiage, “Appreciate the outreach. I’m very busy at this time, but if there’s interest then I will be sure to reach out. Thanks!” Problem solved.

Read the email and keep it moving, or create an email alias specifically for vendors and direct them there. I don’t respond to most of them…just think, you’re not the only one they’re spamming!

It’s both the end of Q1, so people want to hit the goal. Also, a ton of people are starting new roles, so they’re taking old notes and reaching out to prove themselves at the new role. It’s like clockwork

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

What is the advice on what feedback to leave for a peer who really sucks at everything y'all have worked together on? It's about the time where everyone on my team requests feedback from each other and I'm nervous for it coming up. I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative.
