Has anyone who has used adderall long term noticed it wearing off in efficacy? Anything you’ve done to deal with/mitigate this? I feel like the pharma companies have injected some disinformation into the medical community about this. I can’t find a lot of authorities discussing that issue…

I’ve been making do with a low dose for over a decade. I mix in caffeine and behavioral hacks to get me to full efficiency. I could increase my dosage but I don’t want to be up all night or develop a tolerance. I’ll occasionally take a day or 2 off as well.

like

You will build up a tolerance. I try to take breaks or lower dose on days I can to avoid that. Only other option is to keep increasing dose.

likehelpful

I give myself “rest days” and sometimes just don’t take it to reset my tolerance.

Yes back when I was on stimulants. My doctors would up the dose and then switch meds every 6 months to a year when they wore off. Mention to your doctor it isn’t working anymore and ask what the next course of action is. If you don’t trust your doctor find one you trust.

Getting married in September, have a vax only policy for guests. My fiancé’s sister is bringing her unvaccinated spouse to the hotel where all the wedding festivities are being held b/c she is too scared to fly on an airplane without him. Any ideas as to what (if anything) to do?

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.

Can anyone offer advice for helping with adderall side effects? I was diagnosed a few months ago and I am new to medication.
