I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?

Hey everyone, I got a call from Deloitte recruiting on Wednesday of last week discussing salary requirements and location. They told me that the team really liked me and that they were going to work on an offer. I got a call on Friday saying one group has approved the offer but they are waiting on others. I haven’t heard much since then. Should I be worried? How much longer will I have to wait?
Incroyable - who built this deck?

Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

From this app, I was under the impression the other firms don't focus on internal initiative work as much as Deloitte. The client work alone is enough to kill work life balance...add to that all the PRD work and its miserable
I really loved Deloitte for the experience and learning. I really hated Deloitte for the toxic culture of constant outshame/outshine/cliques, and the unnecessary burden of ridiculous internal initiatives expected on top of client work. OP, i dont know your rank, go there if you need to grow your skills/experiences in your chosen domain. but stay away if you are coming in at higher ranks with strong experience looking to grow a book of business unless you already have strong mentors and partner sponsors walking in the door, pounding the table for you. not worth it at higher levels otherwise, stay at PWC.
Run don't walk.
Sprint, don't run.
Culture is different in different groups, but people are not dropping like flies so I imagine it's not as bad as the FB population makes it seem. I personally love Deloitte.
Love Deloitte!
I would rather be shot.
How is it different working for Deloitte vs P-Dubs? I mean both for someone wanting to switch and in the perspective of one who already has. I see them as verrrrrry similar, being more dependent on your specific assignment (partner and engagement) than name on the paycheck if salary and tie are equivalent...
Deloitte is ready to implode. Go to EY
Deloitte does some things that are very strange to me. I'm not sure if other firms do this but some examples:
- Internal initiatives are a huge part of your rating
- You are rated against other people at the same level as you, ex. you if you're a an analyst, the second years get all the high ratings while the first years get lower ones so you will be hard pressed to get a high rating your first year at each level
This is funny. I worked at both firms. They are the same with the exception of slightly bigger bench and more skilled resources at Deloitte. Bigger bench by design. Keep in mind, I'm tech.
D1, it is the same at the other firms. Internal initiatives are always a differentiator. You are always ranked against your peers.
It depends what you do. The culture can be very different in different groups.
Great culture and very smart people!
Deloitte is pretty good if you are not a minority in general

Don't do it. Stay at pwc or go to KPMG or EY or boutique

@D6 Internal initiatives seem bigger here than other firms. Way bigger. And in my experience people were only ranked amongst their level, I was never ranked against a 2nd/3rd year manager at other firms as a 1st year manager but that seems to be the norm here.
