Hello All! I am a UI, Web, Visual Designer with 20 years of experience. Layoffs has me out of a job after 10 years. I've tried a Job Coach, Resume Coach, networking events online and in person, countless applications through all sorts of online job platforms (mainly LI Premium, Indeed, and here on Glassdoor). I'm still unemployed after 8 months and AI is making it so much harder. Custom resumes and cover letters aren't doing it. Does anyone have any advice or can relate? Words of encouragement?

Has anyone seen firing in Deloitte India? Is there any process or employees are fired directly like few companies?

I am afraid after seeing layoffs news of EPAM, Publicis Sapient & most of the other companies calling employees in the office.
I love my WFH in PwC India & base location of Kolkata. & the best thing is stability in PwC India, they never lay off!!

The week of my wedding, my husband (PL SQL Developer 4 yoe) was laid off. That was a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I'm still bringing money in as a software engineer, but I'm looking for advice on how to support a partner who has been laid off. Ultimately I think we will be ok, but I know he's hurting / stressed / and could use a supportive partner.

I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).
Maybe it is "standard chewing out" but it bothered me a lot. So much that I find myself still getting all fired up inside thinking about it...

So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. How do you deal with firing guilt? Is that a thing? I can't help but feeling like I did something wrong.

For people going through layoffs right now. It's really hard. But pro tip: sit down and write your obituary assuming you live to be 100. Helps so much to really see this is nothing but a blip. ❤️

Question! I just moved(transferred) to another team of my company and received new title, graphic & creative services. I was a senior graphic designer at the previous team. What do you think about my new title? I wanted to share that I am in my first job as ui/ux expert and I am the only ux/ui person in the team. I am expected to take care of entire research and design of the product. It becomes very overwhelming as the product that I am working on is in a early phase and I am expected to think about ui as well as ux and also design entire app on my own.There is no user interview or user testing happening as my project manager thinks it can be done after product is launched. Please help!

What are actionable items one should strive for when trying to grow as a designer after landing their first role? I hear a lot about ways to grow to land the first job but very little about how to improve after you know the basics.

Graduated in 2020, wanted to be a graphic designer, took a job at a startup in a social media role. The boss called me the "r" word for not handling entire 13-ish accounts roster well by myself. I quit. Found a role as social media specialist. Realized (again) that I hate social media. Moved to in-house mktg manager, only to be a glorified graphic designer / someone to call the city to cut down trees. I job hopped too much, I feel my portfolio is empty. How do I restart again? I feel defeated.
