Im in NC, graduated back in May with my MSW (not interested in getting my license due to a lack of interest in micro work) and most of my experience as a SW has been in macro with analyzing data, webinars, or providing feedback and updating programs or courses for organizations. Ive been trying to find more avenues that match what I was previously doing with little luck. Any advice on how to find these jobs or where to go?

A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, is a talented photographer and designer (which I feel I have a pretty decent eye for after working at a design-driven branding agency for half a decade). And I’m certain she’d make a fabulous junior AD or content strategist. Unfortunately she, like many in this pandemic, is still without a job. In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

How significantly better are the exit opportunities from mbb vs T2 vs big4? I’m at mbb now with T2 exp, seems the talent quality almost on par.

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.

Recently received my CSW license and have started working as a therapist at an outpatient clinic. Is a starting salary of $64,500 fair? I am supposed to aim for 28 billing hours (get paid if clients show or not) a week with 12 hours of admin time for other tasks. Thanks for any input.

Anyone here ever struggled working at a private practice during your first year as a licensed counselor? I work well with the clients but I find it difficult to accept the pay I receive for the amount of work I do and is required. Lately, I realize I haven’t been putting in much effort towards paperwork because of the pay I receive.

Do you think all these violent and hate filled attacks are because people aren't getting the emotional/mental support they need, whether it's therapy at any age or help they needed but didn't get from a social worker as a child? My coworker is sure this is the case, but I honestly think there's actually something deeper wrong either with how these people are being raised as children, or how the warning signs these people give off are ignored or swept under the rug to save face.

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team. I felt like I was lowballed during my offer, and my negotiation salary was denied since this is technically my first “professional” job. Pt 2 in comments:

I understand they might have real therapists working on their content, but a lot of the marketing I see is so vague and broad that it feels like a lie. Seems like "This app got rid of my anxiety with a 30-minute automated text questionnaire" is the new "This tea made me lose 20 pounds in two weeks!" Just seems a little fad-like and money grabby to me. Thoughts?
