Been here 3 years not seen an increase or any chance of salary changes or moving up the ladder so to speak. Some colleagues have moved away to the SE world and it's been working really well for them. I'm being interviewed for a senior SE role. Is there much difference between these and is it the way to go? I primarily do presales, RFP responses, technical designs etc.

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. Replied that I often receive LinkedIn offers for roles of paycuts around 30-50% so I want to make sure we’re in the same rough range. Recruiter again said she would only share via live call. Is this a red flag?

Is it common for an SE to need to do analyst-style research for a POV/POC? This research helps guides our team of analysts in configuring the product’s environment for the POC. As an SE, I’m tasked with this research since I’m customer-facing but our analysts are not. Idea being that I can apply knowledge of the customer’s requirements.
