Just watch Alex Jones in the morning before work and repeat everything he says verbatim. Guaranteed to be everyone's favorite guy in the office.
You know, I posted this as a joke yesterday but upon reflection I think it might actually work.
Once upon a time politics wasn’t discussed in the office as part of the three topics to not discuss. I guess I’m a boomer and companies just started hiring political activists.
Used to love discussing with trumpians. Now I can’t be bothered it’s too hot a topic. Don’t really ever hear from Dems supporting their party, simply anyone but….
Your smart to stay out of it. Tell them that you like other subjects like science
Do what the Freemasons do. Make a rule to never discuss politics or specific religious beliefs
Keep an open mind, listen if someone wants to vent. Don’t engage. You may be the only one they can express their frustration to. We are so divided that you will not change anyone’s mind. You can support your candidate and viewpoint on Election Day. Either you like the direction we’re going in or you don’t. Both options have huge cons. We don’t really win no matter who we choose. People just assume I’m a Trump supporter, I have guns, drive a big truck, live rural. I voted for Biden. This time I’m not so sure. I’ll keep an open mind, listen to both side, make my decision. I’ll support who’s better for me and my family.
It used to be a fairly calm and interesting discussion around the office. I really do enjoy hearing other people's views and reasoning, whether I agree or not, but lately everybody is really defensive and it’s not what it used to be. I assume in part that a lot are feeling the crunch time with elections at the end of the year. Used to more than just the presidential candidates too.
I literally will say to people, what happened to not talking about politics and religion in the workplace? That usually shuts people down pretty quick. I also just don't engage because I hate both parties equally and if you express hatred of one then people assume you support the other, and it's just all so stupid
I don't discuss politics at work ever. The one and only time I did one of my coworkers got so mad I thought he was going to rage. I then learned this was not a friendly conversation where people could hear other opinions and be okay with them. Its far too touchy of a subject for work.
