How do your employees reach out to HR if they have questions on benefits, paychecks, issues at work, complaints, sick time, etc. ? Is there an email distribution list for each area like payroll, benefits or a general HR inbox where the emails get distributed to the entire HR team? Or do you use Slack or a ticketing system like Zendesk to filter inquiries?

We went from 800 to 1,600 employees in 4 years and it’s now challenging to have the HR inbox as all 6 of us in HR & Payroll get those emails

Currently at $200K base salary (31M) - after taxes, expenses (including vaca), and savings (maxed out 401K), I’m leftover with $30k-$40k. Is this average? If not, how are ppl saving more?

Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? I hate leaving money on the table but there are some good roles out there. I’m not fully vested in my current 401k yet and my stock grants haven’t matured yet either. This would be at a global director level.

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?
