I chatted with a coworker who is leading an initiative (their main focus in their job) but admitted to me they have never done it before and very much learning it on the fly by themself. I have vast experience with that (over 5+ years), but now don’t focus on that in my current role. I also have a lower title than that person. How do I approach this with my boss saying I think I can really help this person out when I have free time, without making that other person look bad and step on toes

Completely and totally miserable at my firm and just need a space to vent because my friends are tired of hearing about it.
