I cleared Capital One Power Day for a Sr. Manager role and am now in team match. Plano is my preference, but I’m open to other locations. I’ve seen many negative reviews and would love input from folks in similar roles:
• Do PIPs usually lead to layoffs?
• Is it hard to get good ratings as a new joiner?
• Which LOBs/departments are better or worse in terms of stability/layoffs?
• Are layoffs more common at certain levels?

I'm currently working as a SWE and am interested in learning about the PM role and the experiences of others who switched to PM from a different role.
I enjoy customer engagement and planning/timelining work in an agile manner. These make me think I'd be a good fit for the role but I have some concerns/questions:

Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?
