This was me. I finally went to a weigh loss doctor and after running tests it was such a relief to know I was doing everything right but my body was fighting me. I’ve gone on a prescription to adjust my A1C (not injectables). I’ve lost 22 lbs in 5 months and 11” off my waist. I’ve never had such sustained success!
My Dr. Sending me to a Rheumatologist because she said she don't know exactly what it is but it's a autoimmune disease that's fighting my own body
I had the same problem. I was seeing a dietitian. FINALLY, we discussed what I drank: Southern sweet tea. Basically about 18-24 teaspoons of sugar daily. I switched to artificial sweetener and the pounds began dropping.
I use Truvia sugar I been using that for 4yrs now
Twice a day is not enough.
You need fiber and protein which I saw you followed up with in a further comment but your portion sizes for each may be off based on your current weight and goals. You may be eating right but too little or too much of one thing can derail you just as much as having chocolate and wine daily for example.
You need to burn more than what you intake. Once you wrap your head around that the weight will follow.
Thank you so much.
CMM1 is right! I’ve seen two nutritionist over the last many years and have learned so much about eating to lose weight and be healthy. Eating twice a day is not enough. If you take in too few calories, your body goes into starvation mode and hangs onto the fat and calories that you have taken in to give it some energy. Eating very little is not going to result in weight loss.
For me, I was told to eat no less than 1,200 calories a day, and they both had me log my food, drink, and exercise in My Fitness Pal. You have to count calories, meet your protein goal every day, count your fat grams and carbohydrates. They both had me exercise. Dieting is not the way to lose weight; in order for your weight loss to be long-lasting, you have to change your lifestyle. I’ve learned so much and feel and look great now.
See my comment before, I also had very low energy. Highly recommend finding a gyno that focuses on hormone balance
There’s a lot of unknowns here. Like how old are you, how many calories do you eat in a day, how many calories do you burn, are you eating in a calorie deficit, how much sleep are you getting, how much sugar do you intake. I would recommend you track your calories with a food app, and use a TDEE calculator to learn how many calories you can eat in a day. Also add exercise into your routine. There are tons of videos on YouTube about nutrition and weight loss.
Everyone is different. Could be so many reasons, but it’s not always calories in vs calories burned. Since you are not hungry until later, I wonder if you are like me and insulin resistant. My Gyno (not OB) finally diagnosed me. I started taking metformin and amazingly dropped all the weight I couldn’t before, without changing anything. My Dr explained by saying my body in “store or starve” mode so I was not burning any of my energy.
You may not be eating enough. If our bodies don’t get enough calories they can go into starvation mode and slow down metabolism. Also may be that you need to cut out more of the starches. Helps to have lots of leafy greens and lots of water.
You need to work out. Weight resistance. Build muscle. Muscle eats daily calories. Burn more calories than you consume.
Walking doesn’t work, it’s low cardio but it does not develop muscle mass. Cardio has its limits long term.
Do not drink calories.
Fake sugar is not good long term, limit diet drinks. Sparkling water is a great replacement.
What’s your exercise routine and what are you eating for meals?
Sounds like you’re eating pretty healthily. Might help to introduce some intense workouts (hiit) and strength training to supplement. I found those made a difference
You may not be eating enough, which halts your metabolism. You may want to make an appointment with a dietitian that can help you make a meal plan for your goals. Whether you just want to lose pounds, or lose body fat while increasing lean muscle, they can help you get a plan in place. I was surprised when I started seeing a personal trainer, he wants me on 1800 calories a day and I’m losing weight and leaning out. But they aren’t just any old calories, about 30% is from protein sources. I make sure to get lots of fiber and tons of water, too. Carbs aren’t the enemy, especially if you work out.
How many hours a week are you doing vigorous cardio? You are probably not burning enough calories
