Hell yeah its normal. We’ve used alcohol to deal with everything forever and now we just have to deal with life and people and taxes and EVERYTHING!?
No this is normal. I had major temper issues when I was sobering up. One thing that helped me was trying to take things slow when they make me emotional. Do not immediately react to anything. Also constantly remind yourself that it’s not you, it’s the withdrawals . You will start feeling calm after about a month in (I was a heavy drinker daily for 3 years before)
Give it time. Get a sponsor, Work the steps, help others.

It's totally normal, and I am still amazed at how short my temper can get when I am not actively working on my emotional sobriety, and this is years removed from alcohol.
After dulling your senses with alcohol, sure, it’s normal to be a bit raw and jumpy when you’re first without it. A word of caution though……. When you snap at something, ask yourself, are you looking for an excuse to go back out? Are you looking to blame someone else for your relapse? One day at a time and easy does it.
As others have said, yes it's completely normal. Best advice I can give is to get yourself to a meeting everyday and throw yourself into the service of others.

Definitely. That’s become one of my ways to tell if I’m in need of an AA meeting or need to call another alcoholic.
Its normal OP. Give yourself grace as you learn how to adjust. In time it does get easier and you will be much less irritable but its normal to feel this way right nwo.
