Hi everyone,
I have a total 9+ work ex in Devops and Release Management. Did an executive mba with a goal of breaking into Program management but got recruited into Management Consulting . In this company for the past 3 months.
I feel that my overall skills are better off in a TPM/Program Management role.
My overall experience makes me eligible for most PM roles.
My question is how do I prep for a TPM role since I don’t have development or Scrum Master exposure. Amazon India VMware BrowserStack Inc.

I personally wouldn’t leave for a “maybe I’ll like it” practice area for less money and less PTO.
Unless you love this firm and see other benefits, I would recommend applying to additional firms that do family law if that is what you are interested in exploring
Not for family law
Bowl Leader
Not worth it.
Join your local bar association and try to work pro bono under a more SR attorney handling family law cases first.
This practice area requires a very specific personality in order to thrive. Otherwise, you'll be miserable in an area of practice that's hard to pivot out of.
Family law is one of those practice areas where you must have a real passion and know you want to do it to be successful. Also, you may find it very difficult to leave family law if you are not careful.
I’ll trade you my family law job for an in house job 😂
Helllllllll no, not for family law. Absolutely NOT. As such a newbie, only get into fam law if you are certain you will receive the proper mentorship and training.
are you an underwriting counsel? what you do at the company matters more than the actual company you work at
yeah thats way less stressful than litigation, do you actually negotiate those agreements too
I like that the others are being nice about it but the answer is “NO”. You do not simply practice family law. The experience will become a part of you. The court room experience and what you learn about people from the experience will be invaluable however it is not for the faint of heart. You must be prepared to represent sympathetic people with hard issues and still maintain your sense of self. It’s a near guarantee something will get to you. It’s a passion area of law (not really a career area).
Absolutely not. Work on your contracting skills and ask for more responsibility. Grow your skills and move into another side or move to another in house role where you can be more of a generalist.
Family law sucks unless you truly have a passion for it. I would NEVER go back to private practice for less money AND less PTO. Jesus could literally come down from the heavens himself to make an offer and I would tell him “thanks but no thanks”.
