Does anyone have any insight as to how I could learn Workday and other payroll systems? My company is on UKG Ready and I would like to boost my resume and try to learn the ins and outs of other HRIS before applying to other jobs.
Anyone know of some good outlets to learn more about Strategy/Business Development? And some job types? Thinking of pursuing MBA and am interested in learning more besides a generic google search. Thx
McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hi folks. Looking to break into consulting. Have 5 years of experience across financial institutions in the US, Pakistan and Canada. I have a terrible voice that fluctuates between sounding confident to flat toned and then using fillers while I’m thinking, i.e., uh um. Does anyone have tips to improve my communication skills so I sound more polished? Things that have worked for you? I feel I’ve performed poorly in interviews because I hem and haw too much. So annoyed with myself.
I have done an interview for a Support Analyst with CrunchTime and I’m not too good with Salary negotiations. Any tips or ideas on the minimum I should be asking for?
Hey Googlers! Are there any non-tech roles at Google that let me travel occasionally like in Consulitng (but less often)? Incoming MBA class of 2023 here. Thanks in advance!
Anyone here going/gone to Harvard? Curious to know how tough Harvard (mainly MBA) is with ADHD?
I want to get out of ID so badly. I don’t mind the work but the hours are just killing me. I just started at a new firm less than 6 months ago and I am already desperate to get out. It is not the firm or the people. I just hate the high billables. I have been applying to other jobs but I think I may need a recruiter for help. Any recommendation for a great recruiter in NYC?

Hi, I come from a business analyst/program manager background. I want to transition in IT audit and did CISA. I’m facing rejection after rejection as I don’t have experience in audit. Can anyone please suggest how to get experience in that field as a fresher (in IT audit).
Anyone here make the jump to an MBA from a big tech background. Currently a PM at FAANG and trying to see if an MBA would make sense for me since I’m already in big tech and have no interest in ib or consulting. Would love to chat

Most of my staff are very weak when it comes to developing meaningful recommendations to address internal audit issues other than saying “control broken, fix it”. Does anyone have suggestions about good courses, certifications, or reference materials around business process optimization or developing meaningful recommendations?
Signed an offer with a sweet $20k signing bonus on Monday. Since then...
Dog figured out how to defeat the fence (the $6,500 fence I put up in October). Has gone across the street to visit his doggie friends (seriously, that's what he's doing). Pulled the trigger on an invisible fence, for $1,400.
Microwave bit it last night; $325 to replace.
Dishwasher still runs but doesn't wash dishes; $700 to $1,000 if I install myself.
Fridge about to bite it. Another $1.5k to $2k.
...bye bye bonus
Turns out that Ellen DeGeneres' new show has been canceled by Warner. I didn't even know she had a new show, huh.
Any suggestions for negotiating a raise come review time? I was lacking in experience and shot pretty low to get in…but after two years I think I should be asking for a lot more than the standard raise that will likely be offered. Any tips to navigate the conversation?
What is the salary for a supervisor position in a large hospital in the western NY area? I was told the offer might be mid 70k to 80k. I’ve also heard it can go up to 100k.
Anyone quit their job without another job lined up? Considering this option and luckily smart with savings so not an issue financially for at least a year. But curious to hear others thoughts? I hate what I’m doing and it’s just not worth waking up everyday filled with dread and stress anymore. Tried applying to jobs but running low on steam and just need a reset to really figure out what I want to do next.
Google folks, can the person who referred me see where my application is at? I have had my onsite 3 weeks ago and radio silence from recruiter since with an email 2 weeks ago from them that they will let me know the final decision soon. No replies to emails since.
I don’t have much hope but wanted to know if my referee can check status on internal portal. Don’t want to bug him unnecessarily if that’s something that isn’t possible. It’s for a non-engg role. Thanks
My company currently has no employee recognition whatsoever besides rather low annual raises. Ideas on what could be implemented on a monthly/quarterly basis to boost the morale among those where pay is not the only thing that matters?
Left KPMG last year and still haven’t received my W-2 form yet. Does anyone know where to get this info?
Hi ladies! 👋🏼

I have an offer in hand but have some questions about the culture. The Glassdoor reviews look rough but everyone I interviewed with says it’s great. Would love an honest and anonymous opinion!

Anyone use Monday.com for recruiting or onboarding? Would love to hear about some best practices!
Just received an offer letter for 80k with 10% bonus structure, 3 YOE, Houston TX for full cycle recruitment including college recruiting (would be the only recruiter, company went public this year)… 80k was the salary they would offer “the right candidate”, wondering if I should counter? I feel like it’s a competitive offer for my YOE but not 100% sure
Has anyone used Instawork? Wondering if anyone has positive or negative feedback to share 🙂.
I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to get my HR certification. Should I get it from SHRM, HCI or HRCI?
First time poster here!
After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"
I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?
Resume question that I struggle to answer. If someone has been working for ~20 years and has worked at a number of companies during that time (let’s say 10 for the sake of this example), the resume becomes way too long. Is it okay to remove the 1st couple of jobs that were held after college even if relevant? Or maybe delete a job or 2 if they aren’t 100% relevant to the rest of the person’s career? Final option is to leave names of companies (and titles) of early roles but delete the content.

I am a Senior People (HR) Business Partner working in NYC under an H-1B visa (9 years of experience). I am looking for something new, but I am finding it extremely difficult to find a company who would support an H-1B Change of Employer (COE). I either get declined immediately as part of the application process or get told the company does not support visa sponsorship for non-tech roles. Any tips, tricks, or great companies where an H-1B COE would not be an issue?
Been searching for an entry level HR coordianator or generalist position but haven't received a call back for 6 months. I come from Banking - years and years of Customer service, reporting, Employee Development, Researching cases, Treasury. I have been at the bank 17 years. I know some of this can transfer over. I don't know what to do as I know my resume is not getting through ATS or if it's just me. Any advice?
HR / Recruiters specifically - can you guys just please try to be honest with candidates and say its going to be a while before they hear back!! I dont know whats going on but interviewing with several major companies and having to chase down recruiters all day after they say they will follow/up on this or that day and then I dont hear from them for 3-4 days. I am trying to time my interviews/potential offers but they keep getting promises of follow-up on next steps and not hearing back
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Does anyone has any tips or suggestions on recruiting trade professionals? (Plumber, Electricians, and HVAC technicians? They are highly sought after but they aren’t really big Linkedin users in my area.
Labor Law question: my husband works for a company that has a union. (Michigan-right to work state). His union has declining numbers and will likely be decertified. MI governor is considering repealing the Right To Work law. If his union is decert. before the law is repealed, and therefore there is no active union at his company, is there any impact to him if the RTW law is repealed? I think the union would have to be voted back in before employees would be forced to join. Correct?
