No advice on whether to leave here, but FWIW, I wouldn’t view you as a job hopper in this situation. I think you could easily and tactfully tell this story in a cover letter or interviews.

You’re spot on to be concerned about trash talking, but people get it. You’ll be able to convey that you’re looking to leave for reasons out of your control without going into much detail. I’ve heard it several times from interviewees. I wouldn’t stress out about this too much.
I know someone else in the same boat (in a finance role, not counsel). Would love to hear what people think. Feels like such a waste of talent, it’s so nerve racking.
They are trying everything to bring cash in for day to day operations and raise funds. I am cautiously optimistic.

Fundraising market is still tight. Poor performance is big red flag. Too many firms competing for dollars that are not there without realizations. If current portfolio not going to generate DPI soon, get out while you can.
Firms are getting creative. Honestly some of the stuff I see feels ponzi

Get out now. Most PE firms end up closing after raising only one or two funds. You never want to be somewhere that's struggling to raise new funds. The money should be flowing in.
