Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

I know someone who was put in PIP and worked like 200% utilization during busy season, but still let go. The person should have rather focused on finding a new role instead of working like crazy. If no team in your group want to work with you, there is no turning back unfortunately. Good luck.
Thanks! Yeah, they let people go right after busy season, and yet they call us horrible if we quit right before. I'm going to start looking around now.
It is always easier to get a job when you have a job.
You might be asked. I wasn’t and just received an offer at a different firm. It is possible an employer could reach out to your current employer to confirm you are employed there.
They are pretty good at giving you hint, so take it seriously. Good luck with your job search, you’ll be much happier to leave than proving yourself to them, not worth it at all
some people can make it back from a PIP. seen it a few times.
I completely agree with the above post.
Get out and start a new job.
I’d consider it. If you are forced to quit, you will technically need to check the box on future applications that you were forced to resign/quit/fired. Busy season is the time to establish yourself with an employer. If you are getting laid off afterwards, you might as well switch I would think.
Would you get severance after the PIP?
Not sure. I haven't been officially put on PIP yet, but they mentioned that it might happen.
