You need to leave that environment because the moment you speak up, you’re going to be targeted. I literally just went through this in the last 60 days and I wish I’d never said anything in the first place
Also one thing to consider is this person is making themselves look bad whether it’s apparent or not.. no one trusts someone who spreads rumors and talks bad about other people behind their back… anyone who partakes is either too nervous to speak up/shut down the bad talk or also not a trustworthy person
Start looking elsewhere as soon as possible. Don’t leave without having a backup plan.
LEAVE.
It all depends on how much trust you put in your manager. If you think they're honest and ethical and you can talk to them plainly, explain the situation. And tell them things need to change. The worst that can happen is you'll need to find another job, but you might as well try to salvage the current situation first.
Stab em. Just kidding, call HR....or stab them.
I also think that depending on the trust you have with your superiors, and/or HR. If you trust, and credibility, then I would suggest to brining it up to them, maybe the other person needs corrective actions. If you don’t feel comfortable, then I think it will be for the best interest that you start looking elsewhere and start fresh.
Good luck and hope the end result is favorable for everyone. Cheers!
