my sister died this morning. I posted about her in a past post. Alcohol addiction, liver failure and then it taxed the kidneys too much, she went into cardiac arrest at 9 am and they could not save her. She was 51. Sad day for sure. Any women here with lean PCOS? I do not ovulate on my own (metformin regulated my periods but I still don’t ovulate) and am moving from three cycles of Clomid/IUI to IVF soon. Anyone have situational depression? Can’t stop beating myself up over a decision a year ago. Basically missed out on a massive amount of money. I know this seems trite and i never even cared thatt much about money before this year.

I have to support my family financially. Usually my mom cooks for the family so groceries only cost $1200/month. However, my mom is abroad for 2 months so it’s just my siblings and they can’t cook so they’ve been using my card for doordash. I think there are days when they spend $100+/day. It’s frustrating because my mom already told them the daily budget repeatedly. I’ll go bankrupt at that rate. However, it’s not like I can take my card back since I don’t want them to starve…

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with discrimination as an Asian in the workplace? In my company it seems like it’s a white boys club where and they just promote white ppl because they’re white. And then they have a lower bar for promotions for minorities (traditional minorities likes Hispanics and African Americans). Meanwhile they make Asians do all the work. I am not generalizing that this is how it is everywhere but it definitely is that way in my workplace. Any advice?

Wish I could just stay asleep for the rest of my life

Having a moment and wanted to make a post. I lost a special family member suddenly in April 2020. And then another July 2020. And then the most influential person in my life in February 2021. And then another big loss in April 2022. I’m still grieving. Every single day. Some days are better than others. I’ve had heightened anxiety and depression with it. My heart hurts all of the time. I miss them all so much. Some days just seem to be better than others.

How do you determine whether your inability to get out of bed in the mornings is due to depression or mere avoidance of all the crushing work and stress that awaits you? Still WFH and now beginning to get worried at how late I’m getting out of bed these last few weeks and feeling completely unmotivated to do anything.

Saw my therapist this past Friday and he gave me a useful trick to build better behavior patterns. Whenever you have work to do but would rather nap or something, tell yourself 3 negative effects of the nap and 3 positive effects of doing the work. You might still take the nap, but if you can get in the habit of thinking of it negatively, you'll take less naps when you need to be doing other things.

Doesn't matter what the activities are. Could be working out vs eating more, could be socializing IRL vs wasting time in FB (lol)
