I have final interviews tomorrow for an opportunity with a company and team I am REALLY excited to potentially join. I am meeting (separately) with the global legal VPs, another company non-legal executive, and finally, the CLO. I’ve never been in an interview process like this before, so I would love advice to knock it out of the park. Recently interviewed at Adobe, it was great. Even the senior designer I was connected with escalated it a lot. But then suddenly after the last interview, I haven’t heard in a week from them even after multiple follow ups. Recruiter said she will reach out on Monday, but even Tuesday passed now. Base is 60k OTE 85k, but 120% commission cap. I support 10 AEs whose base is 55k. I have 13 years experience in my field, including 5 working in the position of my now prospects. Closed dozens of deals at trade shows, created/presented virtual and in-person seminars, create onboarding and scripts for the reps I support as a SE and am required to be on majority of demos across all time zones. I know I’m getting screwed, but how bad?

I started a new job at the beginning of the year and things have been great so far. Today I got a message from a recruiter for a role at a startup that sounds really interesting. I’ve always been interested in working at a startup, but don’t think it would be a good idea to move jobs within a year. I’m a pre sales SE and my variable comp is based entirely on team performance. The sales guys are pressured to build their pipeline, and so the quality of targets and leads in the pipeline is low. It’s not possible to hit 100% of my commission target. Last Q I got 20% of goal. My individual performance is highly praised and my boss is worried I’ll quit and is trying to adjust my comp plan. Is this par for the course? Or should I get comped better despite poor team performance?

Recruitment or solutions engineering what would you say is a better career? I have experience in both fields and enjoy them both as well but I cant decide what I want to continue with. I 'm worried about job hopping so want to make an informed decision. For more context, I'm motivated by earning potential and being able to grow into leadership role. Hope this network can help.
