Is asking for 245K - 250K OTE in this market too much for a senior level SC/SE role at a large established enterprise software company? In this case, it’s ServiceNow. I proposed that range to a recruiter when they asked for my salary expectations but I am wondering if I overshot. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I dont understand why there is such a labor shortage. Especially with corporate private sphere jobs that tend to pay well.

If you work at McDonald's and the government will pay you more to not work, I get it. But not higher caliber jobs.

Why do many associates at top tier firms stay to make Partner when they can go in-house in tech and make around the same, even long term? For example, you can make near 400-550k in-house at Google, Netflix, FB with 8-10 years of exp. More senior than that in-house, it can easily break $1M.

Just got offered a job at a small biotech in London (UK). ~£45k plus bonus but only 1YR FTC and no equity.

Pretty sure it's a discovery role too.

I just finished my PhD at a very good uni with 3 years technician experience before that. BSc and MSc also at very good unis with good grades.

I think this offer is well below par, but curious to hear what you guys think/if you have any comparisons?
